There is no one single approach however there is a multi faceted approach where, if you use the right tools and techniques and create the right environment within your body, your body can heal itself.

In the 21st century we are exposed to a lot of toxins in the environment, household and personal care products, foods, and everyday we add little amounts of chemicals to our toxic basket that build up over time. Then we add our toxic thoughts and emotions, negative self talk and stress, out immune system shuts down, our lymph doesn’t drain and our body becomes ill at ease. The question is ‘What is in your toxic basket and how do  we clean that out?

Employing a holistic cancer treatment utilising a multi faceted approach through integrative  medicine looks at cleaning out your toxic basket and refilling it with nutrients, positive thoughts new emotional patterns and responses so your body can heal itself.

Is It Important To Follow A Holistic Path When Diagnosed With Cancer?

with Marcus Freudenmann, Michelle Richmond & Richard Moore

Duration Video 1 – 2:04 min Video 2 – 4;45 video 3 -6:10

If you look at yourself as a holistic being, then why should you go a non holistic path, if you try to separate the disease, especially the organ which is diseased from the rest of your body then you don’t have another choice, but to treat this disease, you can use radiation, chemo or cut it out but you dont have any other option because you are only looking at a small part of the whole.

If you stand back and look at the whole thing and see the the cancer is only the result of an imbalnce and thats what we need to understand. Cancer is not the problem, it is the result of something else that has then manifested in that form. If the process resolves the problem, then the cancer will be gone instantly.

A holistic approach embraces the best of everything available from both western and complimentary medicine, when diagnosed with cancer there is no one right or wrong way. However there is the possibility to be proactive, take responsibility and  connect with what feels right for you, which is an important and empowering aspect of the healing process.

On a deeper level a holistic approach embraces the body as a community of 50 trillion cells living in harmony or dis-harmony as is the case in the dis – ease process. Each cell is a compilation of energy and matter, which is affected ultimately by your conscious and subconscious mind, emotions, thoughts, perceptions, diet  and environment. Hence  the cancer is seen as  an indicator of an imbalance within the whole community rather than an isolated ‘body part’ the need for a multi dimensional holistic approach to heal a multi dimensional being.

Like all things there are degrees and depths on the Holistic Spectrum the absolute ultimate and true healing occurs when as a multi dimensional being, you embody your spirit, your heart connecting with your passion for life, your purpose, step out of the doing and embrace that which you would truly love to do with your life. Moving from living in lower states of emotion like blame, judgment and guilt to states of acceptance, compassion and love.

In this state true healing occurs, your quality of life, relationships and life transform in ways that cannot be perceived by the mind they have to be experienced.

Absolutely, an integrative approach is looking at all aspects of a persons existence, including a mind, body, spirit approach which is very important to have, because often diseases are treated from the view point that  is based on a physical issue. We are energetic beings so it very important to think about our emotions and energetic perspectives. Things that might alter function and pathology in the body, so again we would be looking at people thoughts, the quality of their thoughts, as thoughts effect physiology, their nervous system. We look at peoples sleep, as good sleep is needed to regenerate and is important for the immune system. We look at peoples nutrition as no one would argue that nutrition is absolutely essential for good health, immune system support, tissue rebuilding and vitality.

Hydration is important, we need water for a lot of cellular processes of the body as well as detoxification. We also need movement, joints like moving its helps circulation, lymphatic flow, relaxation and improves well being. As long as  the movement is qualified for that person, movement for one person may not be appropriate for others, its not a one size fits all.

Looking at structural issues from an Osteopathic point of view, structure governs function so if the structure is not optimal then the function from a neurological  or circulation point of view is not going to be optimal either.

The integrative approach looks at all aspects of the human existence that might be affecting or impacting peoples health, compared with a standard medical approach which is targeting one aspect and disease focused. An integrative approach is a wellness generalised approach, the intention of an integrative approach is to get the body into the best position it can so the body can heal itself.

In my experience when diagnosed with cancer its about quality of life, an integrative approach may not mean longevity but they seem to have less pain, less need for medications, a better mind frame, a more positive outlook, more mobile and we can reduce the need for hospital admission for managing side effects. they seem to cope with their illness in a better way.

The end result is a better quality of life.

What Role Does My Emotional State Play In Healing Cancer?

with Dr. Med Friedrich Douwes, Marcus Freudenmann, Michelle Richmond & Richard Moore

Duration Video 1 -4:08 min Video 2 – 4:09 Video 3 – 2:50 Video 4 – 2:07

Is the symptom the root of the dis-ease … NO!!

When you treat only the symptom, the disease itself persists, as the symptom is not as deep as the disease itself.

Holistic cancer treatment embraces the whole person, and clearly sees that a human being lives on 3 plains at one time the physical, the psychic and the mental. In 1978 there where enough hints that there was a association between the three aspects of a person. If a person has a negative and destructive mental condition how can the body heal, it must be addressed.

This is one of the explanations that the conventional medicine is not successful.

Your emotional state is about 80% of the reason you get sick and a minimum of 90% of the reason you recover and heal yourself!

Your mind is connected with your body and has an enormous influence on your well being and this also works vice – versa.

If you feed the mind with low frequency thoughts and emotions like greed, grief, resentment, anger, fear and so on your body turns into a low frequency and becomes dull. You will feel at dis-ease with the world.

If you feed the body with low frequency dead food, toxins, artificial flavors, food enhancers, chemicals, poisons and all other environmental toxins your mind becomes dull. Just think of alcohol and what it does to your mind. Do you really think all the other substances are different? No they perturb your mind, make it dependent and lead you into a deadly spiral of consuming toxic material.

When you start to understand how your mind and emotions affect your physical body, your well being, this is where real possibility, healing and expansion occur..

And then take that understanding to a deeper level and apply it to transform the way you think and perceive the world, to transform your emotions and move out of living in a place where you are a victim of the world to become a proactive creator of your world.

Dr Bruce Lipton the author of  ’The Biology of Belief ‘ says our beliefs, perceptions, the way we see the world, our past experiences and what we make them mean about us or how we are in the world and how people relate to us and our environment create our biology, changes our D.N.A.

Mastering the mind and the emotions is the most exciting part of the journey, creating  the possibility for you to be proactive in the healing process, proactive in creating the life you’d love to live, rather than being the victim of your life. Understanding and working with your mind and emotions is the key to healing.

You can move from living in states of  blame, judgment, rejection to being in a place of expansion, a place where you see a world of full possibility and live from your heart.

This is where your quality of life changes and your life expands. This is the great gift that comes from being diagnosed with cancer … transformation then becomes your choice!

It absolutely paramount, with any illness there’s always some sort of emotional component to it, whether its primary or some sort of secondary issue where the emotions, the mind and body feed off each other, its important to address it and bring it to the persons attention.

Emotions will effect nerve function, hormone release and therefore effect the function of the body. In the case of people who have stressful emotions, they release a lot of the stress hormones particularly cortisol, excess cortisol tends to  inhibits the immune system and inhibits tissue regeration and so forth. You know when you are stressed it effects the gut function which may reflect as constipation or diahrea, so you can see how emotions effect your physiology.

How Can I Deal With The Projections Of Other People?

with Marcus Freudenmann, Michelle Richmond & Richard Moore

Duration Video 1- 2:52 min Video 2 – 2:43 Video 3 1:45

Would you like to be responsible if I die following your advice!

No one else will know what’s best for you. No one else lives in your body. No one else will know what needs to be changed so you can recover and mend what needs to be mended.

If you listen deep inside you will know what’s best and as soon as you know it will work. So listen and keep still until you can hear.

Very simply put, the only person who is living in your house is you; it’s your body, it’s your temple, it’s your decision.

See, a lot of times there are family fears and projections saying ‘You have to do it this way, I think it’s better that way’ and they might be right and they might be wrong. So one way of responding is ‘Wat if I take your advice and it doesn’t work?’

Would you like to take the responsibility? Is it really that important that I follow what you think or is it more important that I listen to my own body. This usually gives a lot of help and support; it puts people into that position of responsibility which is also something that not everybody wants to take.

There is not one person who can tell you more about yourself than you; because you live there you feel it and this is why I would always trust your own instincts. If you feel it and this is been miraculous, if you feel that this kind of treatment is actually helping you, then it will, because it’s your belief, it’s like those placebo effects they have done a hundred of tests in hospitals all around the world they’ve given medications, and they’re given placebo, and the placebo was working even more powerfully than the medication everywhere.

So its not really a matter of following the right path of doing the right thing, its more about believing that for you, this is best, and if you have that feeling it’s going to work.

There is nothing like being diagnosed with cancer to really test  just  how much you believe in your own beliefs, how much faith and trust you have in yourself, how much faith you have in the decision you’ve made about your path forward.

Everyone in your life has an opinion not just your practitioners but your friends, relatives  and work colleagues and they usually don’t have a problem sharing their opinion with you, telling you exactly what you ‘SHOULD” do and what will happen if you don’t do exactly what they say.

However at the end of the day whose the one responsible for your health? Are they going to be the ones looking in the mirror saying ‘On my god I wish I’d listened to myself and done what was right for me?’ ‘ I wish hadn’ t listened to everyone else’. Are they  the one living in your body, the person who is feeling the process, gathering the resources and information, asking the questions? They just don’t know what you know, they do not have the resources that you have or the same faith in you as you do. Their projections are based on their own well meaning but unhelpful fears and panic.

You don’t have to convince them that your right, just as they don’t have to convince you they are right. You are the only who knows what’s right for you. You are the only one living in your home, the vehicle of your body.

It’s the perfect way to grow faith and trust in yourself, the more you grow faith and trust in yourself the less projections will come at you.

It can be a bit of a challenge because it depends on the particular relationship dynamic with that person. But I always encourage and remind the patient that it is there journey and that they need to empower themselves and no one can do that for you. They can just give you information and you need to make the decision yourself.  I keep on reminding people to do that and take charge its a very important part of the treatment to take charge and not be swayed by other peoples preferences, biases and emotions.

Are There Ways To Support My Treatment?

with Marcus Freudenmann & Michelle Richmond

Duration Video 1 – 1:33 min Video 2 – 5:02

Nature is healing you automatically if you stop working against it!

The very first thing to understand is that the doctor and any clinic is not healing you, but that your body is healing itself. The doctor just helps to provide good circumstances which allow your body’s inner immune system to heal itself.

If you support yourself then your body does everything possible to keep you alive.

Its a big question with a multitude of answers, the importance here is that the relationship you have to any treatment protocol is one that see’s the treatment process chosen as a series of access points to transform your relationship with yourself, your mind and your emotions, connecting you with your internal innate intelligence rather than looking for someone to  fix it or provide a magic red pill.

Any complimentary therapy fundamentally taps into the bodies unique intelligence creating a congruence in the body so it can heal itself.

Of course acupuncture, Chinese medicine and Ayurveda are  of the most common alternative therapies. Ayurveda is often known as the mother of all complimentary medicine and has been around for 5000 years and equally has 5000 years of documentation and encompasses all aspects of the being including, spirit, mind, emotions, environment and body.

This is the most important aspect of complimentary medicine utilizing an approach that embraces the multi dimensional being. The important thing is to work with someone who resonates with you and you feel comfortable with, this goes for orthodox medicine as well.

Boo Armstrong and GetWell UK created an independent report through a year-long pilot scheme in 2007/08, in Northern Ireland and found significant health benefits for patients offered complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) via the public health service.

Following the pilot, 80% of patients reported an improvement in their symptoms, 64% took less time off work and 55% reduced their use of painkillers.

Despite initial skepticism, the GP’s involved were almost unanimously in favor after seeing tangible results. In 99% of patient cases GP’s said they would refer the patient, or a different patient, to the scheme again and in 98% of cases GP’s said they would recommend the service to other GP’s.

How Can I Deal With Panic & Fear When Diagnosed With Cancer?

with Michelle Richmond & Marcus Freudenmann

Duration Video 1 2:00 min Video 2 3:15 min

Fear is your best friend!

There is a human tendency for complacency, after all there is a lot of information out there about good health, diet, exercise, rest, yoga, mindfulness, meditation, working with your emotions and looking after our body and minds. There are many great speakers around the world and often many books on the bedside table. But do we embrace it and integrate all that information into our life or just take bits and pieces here and there with no real commitment? It’s not until we are diagnosed with cancer or other confronting illnesses like diabetes or heart disease or something that perpetuates us into a fear state that people take action.

And then it’s the up to us what we actually do with that fear, do we become consumed by it and become a victim of the fear or do we utilise it as an energy resource. Do we ustilise it to push us forward, can the fear motivate you to do things you never imagine. To reach inside ourselves and find resources that push us to achieve outcomes we would never have done before being diagnosed with cancer. Fear in this instance can be your best friend, so utilise it, embrace it, love it utilise as an energy resource to achieve amazing results.

Fear is a powerful motivator!

There are well known phenomenon’s where people have done incredible things just because fear was motivating them. Jumping out of a sitting position on the floor over 1.5m high onto a table without using their hands when a mouse ran through the room or lifting a car when it has fallen on someone.

That’s because fear is a great motivator to help us change those things which are normally not easy to change. Habits which are so deeply imprinted that without fear or a strong motivation change would be impossible.

And as cancer usually demands a lot of change you can be grateful for every bit of motivation you get from fear.
